According to Housing and Resettlement Office head Rey Roque, over 300 units were sold by beneficiaries to non-Sendong survivors.
Buyers were mostly locals of Lanao del Norte and Lanao del Sur.
The memorandum of agreement signed by the beneficiaries before they occupied the units states that they are not allowed to sell or let non-beneficiaries occupy the units.
The local government is eyeing the possible filing of charges against beneficiaries who sold their units but also vowed to go after officials and department heads who were amiss in their duty to provide the services promised.

Buti nga binigyan pa kayo ng bahay para tirahan nyo at yung pa ang gagawing nyo e benta sa iba. Eh kami nga kahit di full damage yung bahay namin jan sa hinaplanon area hindi nga kami natulonagn ng maayos sa pagpapaayos sa bahay namin na na nasira partially. hanggan nagyon di pa tapos ang bahay namin at binabaha pa rin kami kahit konti ulan lang. Halos di nga kami bigyan ng tulong ng dswd kasi ng nag inspection sila pinaayos ko na yung sira, kailangan pa ng mga pictures para makit anila na nasira talaga bahay namin. Ilan lang ang binigay nila, 10 manipis na yero, 15 manipis na plywood at at marupok pa ang iba at 2 kilong pako. Dapat kasi maayos yung program ng pagtulong at dapat naka register yung dapat tulongan.
