Duterte condoles the bereaved family of slain SAF commando

PANACAN, Davao City (23 Sept 2017) - President Rodrigo Roa Duterte pays his last respects to the late PO3 Alexis Laurente during his wake at St. Peter Funeral Home in Panacan, Davao City on September 23, 2017.

With Duterte is Laurente's widow Liezl.  Laurente, a member of the Philippine National Police Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) commando, was killed while fighting the Maute extremist group in Marawi City on September 15, 2017.  

President Duterte took time to talk with the family of the late SAF commando and assured them of the government's support for the sustenance of the family, as well as for the educational assistance of the son of the slain officer.

The Commander-in-Chief also instructed that an Order of Lapulapu (Rank of Kalasag) be accorded to the slain PO2 Laurente.

The President visited the wake at dawn of September 23, 2017 after his press conference with the Davao media at the Matina Enclaves in New Matina, Davao City.
