BORACAY ISLAND, Aklan - The Department of Energy (DOE) will be donating at least 200 electric tricycles for Boracay in preparation for the phase-out of all gasoline-powered units on the island.
BORACAY ISLAND, Aklan (27 Mar 2018) - Department of Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Roy Cimatu expressed a firm stance on the 6-month closure of Boracay to tourists as recommended by the inter-agency group despite continued objections from local stakeholders.
MANILA - Following public consultations and series of interagency meetings among the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), and the Department of Tourism (DOT), a decision has been made to recommend the total closure of Boracay.
