ILIGAN City (7 Feb 2018) - An afternoon blaze consumes commercial establishments near the Iligan City Public Plaza Wednesday at Aguinaldo street and Mariano Badelles Sr. street in Barangay Poblacion this city.

The headquarter of the Bureau of Fire Protection where a fire truck is stationed is located just some 100-meters from the blazing buildings.  No casualties, however, nor injured victims have been reported as of this writing.

According to police operatives and the Bureau of Fire Protection, the conflagration commenced at around 2:10 in the afternoon and declared under control at around 4:30 p.m.

Onlookers have witnessed the low pressure and insufficient volume of water coming from the firemen's hoses plugged into the nearby water hydrants installed near the scene of the conflagration.  It is undeniable that the City has abundant water sources around, thus gaining the moniker as the City of Waterfalls.

"But, where is the water when it is most need?" a woman vendor cried out in disgust.
