NBI busts P300-k worth of marijuana in Iligan City

ILIGAN CITY - The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) seized Monday (30 July 2018) some P300,000 worth of marijuana in sealed plastic sachets from a dealer at dawn in Barangay Tibanga, this city.

This was disclosed by the NBI acting head agent, Atty. Abdul Jamal Dimaporo, who received the information of the illegal transaction while the curfew was still on.

Three (3) male suspects, including a minor, were arrested during the NBI operation.

Dimaporo said that one of those arrested includes a student whom they have rescued from those who kidnapped him two years ago.

One of the suspects was identified as a son of a government official.

Seized from the suspects include some 133 plastic sachets of dried marijuana ready for distribution worth P300,000, and alleged to be sourced from Mati, Davao Oriental.

The suspects denied any involvement of the seized marijuana.  [Roxanne Arevalo]
