Duterte graces Buglasan Festival in Dumaguete City

President Rodrigo Duterte graced the opening ceremonies of the Buglasan Festival 2017 at the Lamberto Macias Sports and Cultural Centre, Negros Oriental Provincial Capitol Grounds in Dumaguete City.




Known as the "Festival of Festivals," the province of Negros Oriental formally opened its grand celebration with the Negrosanons gathering in the capital city of Dumaguete.

During the program, President Duterte gave the Posthumous Award for Law and Jurisprudence to former Supreme Court Chief Justice Felix Makasair that was receive by his daughter, Cynthia Makasair-Sikat.  He also gave the Award for Science and Environment to Dr. Hilconida Calumpong.

In his speech, the President greeted the people of Negros Oriental as the province celebrates the festivity of Buglasan.  

"May this occasion forster solidarity and camaraderie as you take part in realizing the country's potentials.  Hand in hand let us lay a new foundation upon which we will build a better nation.  Join us in achieving in our vision for a more comfortable and productive life for every Filipino," Duterte said.
