Duterte witnesses signing of 18 letters of intent at Imperial Hotel in Tokyo

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte witness Monday (30 October 2017) the signing of 18 letters of intent (LOI) between Philippine officials and Japanese businessmen at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, Japan, during his official 3-day visit on October 30-31, 2017.


Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ramon Lopez, Energy (DOE) Secretary Alfonso Cusi, Finance (DOF) Secretary Carlos Dominguez, other government officials and top Philippine businessmen have partnered with top officials from various Japanese companies and industries who have expressed full commitment to expand and venture their businesses in the Philippines.

The Japanese companies include Marubeni Corporation; Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd.; Taiheiyo Cement Corporation; Tsuneishi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.; Ministop Co., Ltd.; Lawson Inc.; Itochu Corporation; Japan Tobacco Inc.; Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd.; Itochu Corporation; Hitachi Ltd.; a tripartite partnership between Nomura Real Estate Development Co., Ltd., Isetan Mitsukoshi Holding Ltd., and Federal Land Inc.; Ubicon Holdings, Inc., and Advance World Solutions, Inc.; Densan System Co., Ltd.; Hitachi Asia; List Co., Ltd.; Subic Smart Community Corporation; and Yamato Kogyo.

President was joined onstage by Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Alan Peter Cayetano, National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Director-General and Socio-Economic Planning Secretary Ernesto Pernia, and Philippine Ambassador to Japan Jose Laurel V.
